Westminster Register Office in Mayfair

The wedding dress used in the advertising shoot for the venue is from the Christine Kendall Couture 2012 collection. The silk organza dress has the overlay of lace and long lace sleeves with appliqué lace on the layered back, made popular by the design for Kate Middleton's wedding dress.

The shoot day in June was packed with ideas for poses and background shots from the photographers Fox and Fox, Maxine and Barbara who were constantly moving around the models to get the best angles. Jo, the female model loved wearing the wedding dress adding that it was the most beautiful dress she had seen, as the photographs show.

Six images were chosen to represent the new venue on their pamphlet, so a good day for all.

In September, Westminster register office held a grand opening with Councillor Steve Summers cutting the ribbon to officially open the venue in the elegant setting of Mayfair Library.

Couples were served with chilled Codorniu Brut Cava as they walked around the intimate and romantic 1st floor building, meeting the register team and signing up to hold their wedding in a novel of their very own.

Christine explains the inspiration and development of original design concept involved in a signature collection dress. The design was sketched on the 18th November 2010.

This special location, full of charm and faded grandure was also used for the British film 'The 'King's speech'. I just love the rooms for the positive energy and magical charm that seeps out of every crevice. The stair case where the Athena dress was shot is amazing and the library room where the dress Arletta was shot is so atmospheric. There are many scenes in the film that use these rooms and it is such a delight to think I have been there, sat on that sofa, walked up the stone stair case and looked out of those very Regency windows.

It was very special having my team of professionals work on the shoot creating highly original shots, capturing the unique essence of my dresses to bring to you. I hope you enjoy the results as much we enjoyed the days preparing and shooting the images.
